Password Request Yealink Phones
For all Yealink devices in our Interop Certified Plus Autoprovisioning (Zero-Touch), it is already possible to set a password for the device's web interface via the company panel. Yealink has decided to show a warning in the latest firmware if the default admin password has not been changed. We agree with Yealink that using a default password is insecure, and therefore we have decided to go along with this for security reasons. From now on, we will generate a new password for the web interface of all Yealink devices in our Interop Certified Plus Autoprovisioning.
In the following scenarios, we will generate a new admin password for the device's web interface:
When a device is already active on the platform, and the default admin password has not been set in the Company panel via "Change Device Preferences."
When a device is already active on the platform, and the password is set via the device's web interface.
When a device is already active on the platform, and the password 'admin' is entered via "Change Device Preferences."
When a new device is added in Autoprovisioning but no new admin password has been set via "Change Device Preferences."

Other Yealink devices
For all other devices in Autoprovisioning, it is not possible to change the admin password of the device via Autoprovisioning. For these devices, we have decided to disable the warning on the device when the default admin password has not been changed. Customers will not see a warning on the device if the default password is not changed. However, we always recommend changing the default password of the device's web interface.
What if the password has already been set via "Change Device Preferences"?
If the password has already been changed in Autoprovisioning via "Change Device Preferences," no new password will be generated.
What if no password is set via "Change Device Preferences"?
In this case, after the update, a new password for the device's web interface will automatically be generated. This password can then be found in the Company panel under "Change Device Preferences."
What if the password has been set via the device instead of via Autoprovisioning?
If the device is configured with our Interop Certified Plus Autoprovisioning, and the password is set via the device's web interface, a new password will be generated. This password can then be found in the Company panel under "Change Device Preferences."
What if the password does not meet the platform’s minimum password requirements?
The requirements for a secure password have changed. If the entered password does not meet these requirements, we will not overwrite the password. If a change occurs via "Change Device Preferences" (such as changing a BLF button), a new password must first be entered before the changes can be saved
